AEROPUERTO INTERNACIONAL DEL HIGUERO—En una operación interagencial  del Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil (IDAC),  el COE,  el Ala  Aérea de los Auxiliares Navales  Dominicanos de la Armada, el Centro de Operaciones de la Fuerza Aérea Dominicana, el Aeroclub Quisqueya de Santiago y el Aerocluc Dominicano 74,  varios aviones volaron este sábado  hacia  diferentes regiones del país, encontrando inundaciones, carreteras interrumpidas y personas aisladas por el paso de la tormenta que afectó a diferentes regiones.

Así lo informó  el  Coronel Edwin  Olivares,  Jefe del Centro de Operacionesde  Emergencia (COE) al recibir a los pilotos voluntarios que se coordinaron para ayudar a las agencias gubernamentales en el apoyo a la emergencia nacional, que aportaron localización y fotografías aéreas,  con un sistema preestablecido por el Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil (IDAC), llamado OANA, Ojos aéreos y Navales Ambientales,  con el cual inmediatamente envía técnicos y ayuda por vía terrestre, y botes de fondos planos a rescatar a los damnificados,  especialmente en el área de Boca del Yuna,  la zona mas afectadas.

Esas aéreas fueron cubiertas por pilotos  del Aeroclub Quisqueya de Santiago al mando  de Jean Pier Oquet,  Nicolás Vargas y Alex  Torres del (COE).

En la parte Este del país,  San Pedro,  El Seibo,  Bayaguana,  no se encontraron personas aisladas,  pero si los vestigios de una gran inundación en Hato Mayor, después  que comenzaron a bajar las aguas después de inundar parte de la ciudad. Este segmento fue observado por los pilotos, Waldo Pons, Richard Delgado, Rafael Lugo y Arturo Monzón.  También  volaron  por Pimentel,  Castillo y Cotui, donde encontraron  áreas agrícolas inundadas, arroz,  platanales derribados.

El plan de observaciones aéreas fue coordinado por el líder del Ala Aérea de los Auxiliares, Dr. Federico Suero, el  Centro de Operaciones  de la Fuerza Aérea Dominicana, y el Coronel Ramón  Pirón,  Coordinador  SAR de Búsqueda y Emergencia del IDAC, y el Coronel Karin Hernández,  Jefe de Operaciones de la Fuerza Aérea Dominicana.

The agreement was signed by Marino A. Collante Gómez, executive director of the Airport Department and Mónika Infante, secretary of the Board of Directors of ACI-LAC and CEO of Dominican Airports Siglo XXI (Aerodom).

The agreement establishes communication and exchange mechanisms to achieve cooperation that will improve and promote air transport in the country, including initiatives related to regulation and best airport management practices, participation in international training and training events, as well as Identification of other possible joint projects.
