PUERTO PLATA – A successful two-day Fly In was held this weekend by 16 private planes from the Dominican Aeroclub 74, which arrived from Santo Domingo to Puerto Plata International Airport, in order to promote national and international private aviation tourism and by the same time as preparation for the participation of the pilots of the eight Dominican planes that will fly to the United States to support the
government and the Ministry of Tourism in promoting and relaunching the Dominican Republic to attract part of the thousands of private jets of the United States and Canada flying through the Caribbean, The Bahamas and the Virgin Islands, with a Dominican pavilion at the second aviation fair America’s largest “Sun and Fun”, to be held in Lakeland, Florida, from April 13 to 18 of this year, to announce the new
President Abinader’s policy of zero bureaucracy.

The Dominican authorities linked to airports and aviation are working to make the Dominican Republic a friendly country for high consumption private aviation tourism, with an information plan in clear and precise English, that is attractive to attract that important air market, taking advantage of the excellent control and aeronautical support for air navigation that the country has, its eight excellent international airports and domestic airports nearby of the large tourist centers in the south and north of the country, according to expressed Fernando Cruz, representative of the Dominican Aviation Institute (IDAC). Carlos Rodoli, representative of Dominican Airports Siglo XXI AERODOM, thanked the visitors for choosing the Airport from Puerto Plata, joining its airports to this new relaunch.

Ana Imbert, on her behalf, the representative of the Airport Department, gave the thanks to all the authorities of Puerto Plata for the welcome and for join in this relaunch of the important private jet tourism.

The President of the Dominican Aeroclub 74, Cristian Feliz congratulated all government, civil and military institutions linked to aviation and to the airports, especially General Carlos Febrillet, Director of the
Specialized Airport Security Corps (CESAC), for following the new policy of the Dominican government of zero bureaucracy, to eliminate all the obstacles that prevent the country from receiving more private planes, with all the beauties, beaches, mountains, and the excellent hotels that we have, and be able to compete for that high-consumption tourism market that Las Bahamas and the Virgin Islands, very close to our north coast, and they come very few due to the existing bureaucracy, and lack of information in English to arrival, and pre-established prices of visible services.
