Dominican Airport Department ( DA) and International Airports Coucil (ACI-LAC) sign collaboration agreement.

The Airport Department of the Dominican Republic and the International Airports Council – Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the objective of developing cooperation ties that allow promoting and improving air transport and airport management in the country.

The agreement was signed by Marino A. Collante Gómez, executive director of the Airport Department and Mónika Infante, secretary of the Board of Directors of ACI-LAC and CEO of Dominican Airports Siglo XXI (Aerodom).

The agreement establishes communication and exchange mechanisms to achieve cooperation that will improve and promote air transport in the country, including initiatives related to regulation and best airport management practices, participation in international training and training events, as well as Identification of other possible joint projects.

“We are excited to sign this agreement with the Airport Department that will strengthen cooperation between both entities, seeking to raise standards and promote professional excellence in airport management,” said Mónika Infante, secretary of the Board of Directors of ACI-LAC and CEO of Aerodom.

For his part, the executive director of the Marino Collante Airport Department said that the agreement reached will benefit the entire aviation industry, as well as the populations served by air transport, by facilitating access to international training and workshops, as well as access to better airport management practices.

Thanks to the agreement reached, ACI-LAC and the DA will cooperate in the technical areas of international civil aviation, particularly in the training and training of human resources in the fields of airport management, airport security, operational security, environment and other issues of common interest.

ACI-LAC is the regional office of Airports Council International, the only professional association of airport operators worldwide. ACI-LAC represents more than 270 airports in 34 countries and territories. Member airports manage 95% of commercial air traffic in Latin America and the Caribbean, receiving more than 570 million passengers, 5.4 million tons of cargo and more than 9 million aircraft movements each year.
