Barahona as Central Hub for Open Wings Air bridge

The Maria Montez International Airport in Barahona is prepared and ready to support the Open Wings for Haiti Air Bridge Operation.

The Airport MDBH will serve as a multiple aviation logistical platform for all support flight in and out of Haiti.

MDBH is capable of handling large planes and also has the Barahona nearby port which is being prepared also for Naval delivery of aid to Haiti.

The US Southern Command is now coordinating flight and operating  out of the Maria Montez International Airport .

Throughout his life, Franklin became one of the Dominican Republic’s strongest advocates for general aviation. Whether helping international pilots plan Caribbean adventures, supporting aviation organizations, mentoring young aviators, or promoting Dominican aviation abroad, he believed aviation was ultimately about people.

His influence reached far beyond the cockpit.

His work earned recognition from the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), which honored him by naming the main auditorium of the Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences (ASCA) after him, recognizing his extraordinary contribution to Dominican aviation.
