DR Getting Ready for AirVenture 2009

The Dominican Republic Tourism delegation is getting ready for AirVenture 2009.

TSHIRT The DR will have an improved stand in AirVenture’s hangars with Multimedia features such as Video, Internet guides, Brochures and the “all famous” Dominican Republic Full 3D map that Pilots from all over the world use to familiarize with the island features.

This effort is made possible by the Secretaria de Turismo Dominicano, IDAC, and Departamento Aeroportuario and also counts with the help of private dominican pilots all joined together with the vision of making the Dominican Republic a “Premium” general aviation destination.

IN MEMORIAM

Franklin Polanco Sr.

The website is dedicated to the memory of Franklin Polanco Sr. My father, pilot, communicator, aviation promoter, mentor, and friend to countless aviators around the world.

Throughout his life, Franklin became one of the Dominican Republic’s strongest advocates for general aviation. Whether helping international pilots plan Caribbean adventures, supporting aviation organizations, mentoring young aviators, or promoting Dominican aviation abroad, he believed aviation was ultimately about people.

His influence reached far beyond the cockpit.

His work earned recognition from the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), which honored him by naming the main auditorium of the Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences (ASCA) after him, recognizing his extraordinary contribution to Dominican aviation.
