The Japanese Government sent equipment and machinery for the reconstruction of Haiti, trought the Dominican Republic Las Americas International Airport ( MDSD )whos is managed by Aerodom. in an Russian Antonov AN 225, One of (if not) the biggest plane in the world.
The Antonov An 225 is rated as the biggest plane used for cargo in the world, with a wing and fuselage span greater than the other similar planes in the category.
Mayor Yutaka Hashimoto, of the Japan Auto Defense Ministry received the plane and thanked the Dominican government for the cooperation received in the arrival of the cargo.
The Antonov 225, which landed on Dominican Soil for the first time, arrived at 7:33 Am Last thursday 18 of february, received maintanaince and services from the Aerodom crew in Las Americas Airport (JFPG- MDSD )
